1. About these terms
Becoming You is a trading name of Be You Therapy Solutions Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13743130. Our registered office is 47a Queen Street, Derby, United Kingdom, DE1 3DE.
These terms apply to your use of this website and to the therapy services we provide. By using our website or booking a session with us, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
2. Using our website
The information on this website is for general information only. It isn't a substitute for professional advice about your own circumstances, and you shouldn't rely on it as such.
We work to keep the website accurate and available, but we can't guarantee that it will always be up to date, uninterrupted or free from errors. Where we link to other websites, we do so for your convenience only — we aren't responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
3. Our services
We provide talking therapies, including CBT, neuro-affirming CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and trauma-informed therapy, delivered one-to-one or in small groups, in person or online. Our therapists are accredited by the BABCP and work within its Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Our services are offered to adults aged 18 and over. If you're enquiring on behalf of a young person, please get in touch to talk about whether we can help.
Therapy is a collaborative process and outcomes vary from person to person, so we can't guarantee any particular result. We'll review your progress with you regularly.
4. Free consultation
Your first 20-minute consultation call is free and comes with no obligation. It's a chance to talk about what you're looking for and for us to suggest the approach and therapist that may suit you best.
5. Booking and sessions
Individual sessions usually last 50 minutes and are agreed with your therapist at a time that suits you both. If you arrive late, your session will still finish at the scheduled time so that we can keep to time for other clients.
At the start of therapy, your therapist will talk you through how you'll work together, including confidentiality, how often you'll meet and how to get in touch between sessions.
6. Fees and payment
Our current fees are shown on our Services page: £120 per individual session and £45 per person for group sessions. A reduced fee on a sliding scale may be available if you're experiencing financial hardship — please ask in confidence.
Payment is due no later than 48 hours before each session, unless we agree otherwise with you. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any change to our fees.
If you're using health insurance, please check your cover and obtain any pre-authorisation from your insurer before your first session. If your insurer doesn't pay for a session in full, you'll be responsible for the difference.
7. Cancellations and missed sessions
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, please give us at least 48 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed, will be charged at the full fee, as we're unable to offer that time to anyone else. We'll always consider genuinely exceptional circumstances.
If we need to cancel a session, we'll give you as much notice as we can and offer another time. You won't be charged for any session we cancel.
When you book with us online, by phone or by email, you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason. If you ask us to start sessions within those 14 days, you'll pay for any sessions that have already taken place.
8. Online sessions
Online sessions take place over a secure, encrypted video platform. Please join from a private space where you won't be overheard or interrupted, using a reliable internet connection. Sessions must not be recorded by either party without the other's written agreement.
If the connection drops, your therapist will try to reconnect, or call you on the phone number you've given us. If a session can't continue because of a technical problem on our side, we'll rearrange it at no extra cost.
9. Confidentiality
What you share in therapy is kept confidential. As is standard practice, there are some limits to this: we may need to share information without your consent where there's a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, where a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk, or where the law requires it. Wherever possible, we'll talk to you first.
Our therapists also take part in regular clinical supervision, as required by the BABCP. Supervision discussions don't include information that would identify you. You can read more about how we handle your information in our Privacy Policy.
10. Ending therapy
You can end therapy at any time. Where possible, we'd encourage you to let us know in advance so we can plan a final session together.
We may suggest ending or pausing therapy, or referring you to another service, if we feel that we're no longer the right support for you. We'll always discuss this with you and help you find appropriate alternatives.
11. Concerns and complaints
If you're unhappy with any part of our service, please talk to your therapist or contact us at hello@becomingyou.co.uk, and we'll do our best to put things right. If we can't resolve your concern, you can raise it with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
12. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law. Nor do these terms affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
We aren't responsible for any loss that wasn't reasonably foreseeable when you started working with us, or for any loss caused by events outside our reasonable control.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated. If we make a significant change that affects you, we'll let you know before it takes effect.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of the country where you live.
15. Contact us
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at hello@becomingyou.co.uk or on 0800 000 0000.
